Luxfer Gas Cylinders, the most trusted name for high-pressure gas cylinders worldwide and the world’s largest manufacturer of high-pressure composite and aluminum alloy cylinders, will hold the European launch of their highly acclaimed ECLIPSE cylinder at the Congres NATIONAL DES SAPEURS-POMPIERS 2018, taking place in Bourg-en-Bresse 26 – 29 September 2018.
Luxfer’s launch of the ECLIPSE cylinder at the U.S. FDIC exhibition in April was received with global acclaim. ECLIPSE is an acronym for Extra-lightweight Cylinders by Luxfer for Industry Professionals in SCBA Environments. Renowned for being at the forefront of technology and for their innovative products, Luxfer pioneered the first significant SCBA (Self-contained Breathing Apparatus) cylinder design change in over twenty years; resulting in the ECLIPSE being the world’s lightest composite cylinder for SCBA. The cylinders are based on a next-generation aerospace-grade carbon fibre-only overwrap design; reinforcing the cylinder’s lightweight aluminum liner while maintaining the highest safety, reliability and durability standards and remaining compliant with all industry standards.
This latest weight-saving design enhances performance and minimizes weight-related health risks for firefighters, emergency personnel and SCBA industry professionals. The ECLIPSE is up to 20 percent lighter than comparable aluminum-lined (Type 3) composite cylinders and up to 3 percent lighter than plastic-lined (Type 4) cylinders used primarily in Europe.
