May 15, 2017
Alcon Components Ltd, the Midlands, UK based acclaimed motorsport brake and clutch company, have signed a contract with the Southwest UK based full-service marketing and communications agency, Chamois Consulting Ltd.
Under this contract, the team at Chamois will provide an integrated, out-sourced marketing & communications service, focussed initially on the defence sector. Already firmly established in the motorsport and automotive sectors and with a solid foundation in the defence vehicle industry, Alcon have taken on Chamois to support their plans for further growth in defence by assisting them in improving their profile and awareness.
Alcon braking solutions are sought out by some of the world’s finest Special Forces vehicle manufacturers. Amongst other key defence players, Supacat, the designers of the Jackal vehicle, BAe, Ricardo and Jankel have turned to Alcon to obtain bespoke, tailored braking systems that fully meet the demanding requirements of the challenging, high-performance, modern-day battlefield.
Jamie Clarke, Director and Founder at Chamois said: “We’re super-pleased to have agreed this deal with Alcon and are very much looking forward to working together with this prestigious brand”. He added: “Military vehicles are becoming increasingly heavy as additional sub-systems and armour are integrated onto platforms. At the same time, they are becoming faster and more agile, often over-matching the automotive systems fitted as standard. Alcon’s ability to design and deliver bespoke high performance braking systems solves one of the key problems encountered by any modified or upgraded military vehicle i.e. its ability to be effectively stopped”.
Jonathan Edwards, Sales Director at Alcon said: “We’ve turned to the team at Chamois for assistance as we’ve recognised their proven track-record in successfully marketing high-performance products and services into the defence sector, as well as their considerable motorsport sector experience and knowledge, where our roots firmly lie. We believe we have a highly attractive offering for any defence vehicle manufacturer and are really pleased to be working with Chamois to raise the profile of what we are able to deliver. The motorsport industry thrives on its ability to deliver the very best performance and quality products on time – key parameters also demanded by the defence sector. We’re ideally placed to deliver what’s needed and we believe Chamois is the team to help us”.
